1944 N1 Deck Jacket Waxed Khaki Pike Brothers: the waxed N1 that develops a patina
The 1944 N-1 Deck Jacket was issued to all US Navy personnel during World War II. From Normandy to the Pacific Islands, it became one of the most worn and popular jackets of the American armed forces in the 1940s. Its construction combined a thick jungle cloth outer layer with a wool lining to keep the wearer warm, comfortable, and protected against the harshest conditions. In this Waxed Khaki version , Pike Brothers applies three coats of wax to the jacket, which develops a unique patina and exceptional feel over time.
3-layer waxed jungle cloth cotton
The double-sided 100% cotton jungle cloth is coated with three layers of wax to increase its resistance to water, wind, and abrasion. Each layer adds structure to the fabric: it darkens, develops marks, and creates ridges with use. This patina is one of the joys of waxed fabric: the more it is worn, the more it tells its story.
100% wool and zip. Bell heel.
The 100% woven wool lining provides the consistent warmth and temperature regulation inherent to wool. The vintage 1940s bell-shaped Talon zip , the official Spec. Label , the round-knit cuffs , and the stand-up collar complete the historical vocabulary of the N1.
A piece that transcends decades
This men's military jacket can be worn with raw denim, heritage trousers, or chinos. Pair it with leather ankle boots, motorcycle boots, or selvedge sneakers. It's a piece that makes a statement, develops character, and becomes unique over the years.
