The 1944 N-1 Deck Jacket was issued to all US Navy personnel during World War II. From Normandy to the Pacific Islands, it became one of the most worn and popular jackets of the American armed forces in the 1940s. Its construction combined a thick jungle cloth outer layer with a wool lining to keep the wearer warm, comfortable, and protected against the harshest conditions. The double-sided 100% cotton jungle cloth is coated with three layers of wax to increase its resistance to water, wind, and abrasion.
