1944 NAF Flight Jacket Pacific Beige Pike Brothers: the rarest Navy Air Force jacket
The NAF Jacket (Navy Air Force Jacket) is probably the rarest jacket produced for the US Navy during World War II. Due to its short production period ending in late 1944, original pieces have become the holy grail for collectors of military and vintage jackets. The NAF is a hybrid of the famous N1 Deck Jacket and the Deck Zip Jacket: it retains the short jacket cut of the early Navy jackets but incorporates the thick lining of the later N1s. Pike Brothers considers this design the ultimate achievement among 1940s Navy jackets, combining extreme durability with optimal comfort and warmth.
Jungle cloth cotton and virgin wool
The outer shell, made of 100% cotton jungle cloth with a dense weave, is the same legendary fabric used on later N1 jackets. The 100% virgin wool lining provides thermal protection. This cotton-wool combination balances durability, breathability, and consistent warmth. The NAF jacket can be worn in mid-season as well as in the depths of winter.
Zip heel, navy pockets and ribbed cuffs
The Talon zip, true to the 1940s, is a mark of authenticity. Two large exterior pockets hold essentials; a spacious interior pocket secures valuables. Ribbed knit cuffs keep out the cold and adjust the fit perfectly.
A collector's jacket with an urban silhouette
The NAF offers a shorter, more sculpted silhouette than the N1, ideal for everyday wear. It pairs perfectly with raw denim, heritage trousers, or selvedge chinos. A rare jacket to wear and collect.
